Getting Started

Finding a tutor

How does InspireCore find a home tutor for my child?

You tell us your child's level and subjects, and if you can, their school, schedule and how they learn best. A consultant picks two or three tutors from our vetted panel and sends you their profiles. You choose who teaches your child. Start with the request form.

How quickly will I hear back?

A consultant replies on WhatsApp within one working day of your request.

Is the first lesson free?

Yes. Your child's first lesson with the tutor you choose is free, so you can see how they get on before paying for any lessons. If the fit isn't right, tell your consultant and they'll suggest another tutor.

What do you need from me to get started?

Your child's level and the subjects they need help with are enough to start. Their school, upcoming exams, preferred days and times, and how they learn best help the consultant choose a closer match.

Rates and Fees

What home tuition costs

How much does home tuition cost in Singapore?

Typical market rates run from about S$35 an hour (lower primary, undergraduate tutor) to S$160 an hour (IB, experienced MOE teacher), including our flat S$10 an hour. Each tutor sets their own rate, so it varies from tutor to tutor. See every level and tutor type on tuition rates.

What does the S$10 an hour InspireCore fee cover?

Matching, your own consultant, regular check-ins once lessons begin, and a replacement tutor if the fit is wrong. Your tutor's rate goes to your tutor, and we show the two amounts separately.

How is my tutor's exact rate decided?

By your child's level and the tutor's experience and qualifications, within the published ranges. We confirm the rate of each tutor on your shortlist before you choose.

Tutors

Who teaches your child

Who are InspireCore's tutors?

Three kinds of tutor: undergraduates studying at university, full-time tutors who teach as their main profession, and ex- or current MOE teachers who have taught in Singapore schools. Browse them on our tutors.

How do you check tutors before they teach?

Every tutor passes background verification, provides academic transcripts, takes part in a structured interview and completes our teaching orientation before joining the panel.

Can I ask for a particular tutor?

Yes. Each tutor on our tutors has a tutor code. Press "Ask about" on their card, or quote the code in your request, and the consultant checks whether they're free for your child.

What if the tutor isn't the right fit?

Tell your consultant. They gather your feedback and arrange a replacement tutor. It's part of what the InspireCore fee covers.

Lessons

Levels, subjects and progress

Which levels and subjects do you cover?

Primary 1 to 6 and PSLE, Secondary (O-Level and SEC), Junior College (A-Level), the IP programme, and IB and international schools. Subjects include Mathematics, English, the Sciences, Chinese and Higher Chinese, and Humanities.

Where do lessons take place?

Home tuition means the tutor comes to your home for one-to-one lessons. If you'd rather have lessons online, tell your consultant when you make your request.

How will I know how my child is doing?

The same consultant stays in touch after lessons begin, asks for your feedback and changes the arrangement if something isn't working. Families also get a portal login to see lessons, homework and learning resources.
